We are excited to announce the next session of the History Center’s Book Club on Thursday, September 17, 2026.

This free event will be held from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Tampa Bay History Center, with the option to join via Zoom. The September title is “It’s Hard to Kill a Bougainvillea: From Slavery to the American Dream” by Sylvia A. Alvarez. Author Sylvia A. Alvarez will join the book club as the reviewer for this month’s discussion. Visit the Museum Store to purchase your copy.

Grab a cup of coffee and join us monthly for an informal discussion about the best in Florida literature. Topics range from fiction to food, poetry to politics. Free with registration, the History Center’s book group meets in person and via Zoom from 10:30-11:30 a.m. on the third Thursday of each month. Everyone is welcome!
